The Development Research Division of the Centre for Development Research and Criminal Justice (CDRCJ) offers generous three year DAAD merit scholarships for PhD students in Development Studies, Governance, Public Policy or Public Management at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town. The closing date for scholarship applications for full-time students to commence their studies in January 2012 already expired. Scholarships for the next intake in 2013 will be advertised in 2012. Successful applicants will study at the UWC but will also undertake doctoral course work at the IEE, the Institute for Development Research and Development Policy at the Ruhr-University, Bochum in Germany, the academic partner of UWC.
