MA and M Econ in Development Studies (MADS)
MA_devThe MA and M Econ in Development Studies is offered at the Institute of Social Development (ISD)at UWC. The course is designed for those planning a career in the field of economic and social development as policy-makers, activists, administrators, developers, researchers or teachers at universities. Annually about 80 students from 15-20 different countries register either for the Honours or Masters programme in Development Studies.

Successfull students of the Masters programme will be awarded the MA or M Econ in Development Studies of UWC. Excellent students can receive the MA in Development Management degree of Ruhr-University Bochum as a second degree if they fulfil additional requirements (see 2nd degree option for further information).

The MA and M Econ in Development Studies starts every year with the next intake in January 2012.

Applicants with an excellent academic record (average upper second or first class grade) will have the opportunity to apply for a DRD scholarship for their studies (see scholarship section for more information).
Furthermore, participants will be given the opportunity to apply for a study period at Ruhr-Universiy Bochum in Germany, which can be supported through a mobility scholarship of the DRD.
